Common questions about the portal and shared links

Does the client have to create an account?

Not if you use a shared link. For lasting access with a role, your accountant reviewing documents regularly for example, the client receives an invitation and creates an account in one click. Creating an account is free for the client.

Which permissions can I grant?

You can allow view, download, edit or share, per document, per folder or across a whole workspace. Every permission is explicit, so nobody stumbles into the wrong document.

What is a shared link and how does it work?

A shared link is anonymous access to a single document or folder, with a mandatory expiry (24 hours, 7 days or 30 days). The recipient needs no account. You can revoke the link at any time.

Can a client see documents I did not intend for them?

No. Every client sees only what they were explicitly granted. This is checked at database level on every request, and every access is written to the log.

Are the client portal and shared links free?

Yes, the client portal, invitations and shared links are available on all plans, including the free one. Paid plans add more users and more client companies.
